A fast, minimal-dependency R interface for TOON, a compact, human-readable data format built for passing structured data to language models with far fewer tokens than JSON. Read, write, validate, stream and convert, with a C++ backend.

JSON is verbose. YAML is ambiguous. CSV cannot nest. TOON gives you nesting, explicit types and comments at a fraction of the token cost. This package makes it a first-class citizen in R.
